Violin Story
Violin - Carl Mächler 1953 (Switzerland)
CHF 5,000 -10,000
With a very beautiful back and solid sound, this is the second violin of the Zürich maker Carl Mächler that got into my hands. My luthier friend was very kind and allowed me to assist him, when renovating the instrument. It was my first experience of a little work in a luthier workshop and my task was to clean the varnish at the places, where it accumulated to much dirt from the hands.

Violin - Anonymous (Netherlands?)
CHF 5,000 -10,000 SOLD
Sweet sound is the main feature of this instrument. Made by unknown maker, probably of Dutch origin, the instrument sounds equally beautiful on all strings. Some nice memories stay with this violin as I started playing it as a teenager at the early stage of my studies...

Viola - Matthias Heinicke 1922
CHF 1,000 - 5,000 RENTED
After I switched from violin to viola, this was my first own instrument. It has a very comfortable size of 40,5 cm, suitable also for a violin player often switching the instruments.

Violin - Anonymous +/- 1960 (Germany?)
CHF 1,000 - 5,000
Skillful anonymous maker put a lot of work into details of this instrument. The copy of Guarneri is visualy very astonishing and provides great sound for a moderate price.

Violin - Carl Mächler 1964 (Switzerland)
Guadagnini Copy
CHF 10,000 -20,000 RENTED
First violin of Zürich maker Carl Mächler that got into my hands. Very beautiful in every detail, probably thanks to the fact that Mächler had original old instruments at the workshop in Zürich. Instrument is now played by a young talented violinist studying at HSLU Luzern, Switzerland.

Viola - Bronislav Bursik 2012
CHF 5,000 -10,000 SOLD
Atelier Bursik in Czech Republic is a well known family run place for a quality string instruments. I always liked the work of Czech luthiers, both old and modern. This viola of 42cm size was slightly modified - adjusting the width of the fingerboard and other small adjustments make it very easy to play.
